Did someone say a little bit louder now? LOL. Little did the Isley Brothers know that when they penned the tune Shout in 1959 it would basically become a wedding reception staple. It also has become the theme song to many commercials and montages for all things that blow our minds. Well now you have another reason to sing this song, when you taste the cakes in the “Make-Me- Wanna Shout Baking Challenge!” Yep, cue the Isley Brothers,this amazing cake challenge is back and this year’s flavor…The Chocolate Layer Cake! This baking challenge isn’t only about crowning the best chocolate layer cake in the metro area; but it desires to build community around food by shining a spotlight on the Washington area’s most inspired bakers, indulging dessert lovers and supports the work of Martha’s Table. JC went One-on One with last year’s winner Dee Brown and her very moist and delicious Coconut Layer Cake.
If you think you can make the best chocolate cake you certainly want to enter “Makes Me Wanna SHOUT! Chocolate Layer Cake Baking Challenge” presented with Eatonville Restaurant. The winner will receive $500 dollars, a $250 dollar gift card from King Arthur Flour and a spot on Eatonville’s menu! This challenge is open to all residents in the Washington, DC metropolitan area and applicants must be 18 years or older. All entries are due by Wednesday, February 1.
