WASHINGTON (JCHAYWARD.COM) – One of the world’s largest fashion retailers, H&M, is opening its new store on Thursday at noon in Downtown Silver Spring, Md.
The fun and trendy clothing store, which carries men, women, and kid’s apparel, took over 18,000 square feet of the former Borders location at the corner of Fenton Street and Ellsworth Drive.
To mark the grand opening, H&M will partner with Mentor Foundation USA, an organization that works globally to prevent substance abuse and sponsor the 2nd High School T-shirt Slogan Contest, where local high school students can enter their own anti-drug slogans for the chance to win an H&M gift card as well as the chance to have their slogan featured on an H&M t-shirt.
The winning t-shirt will be sold in H&M stores in early 2013 with 25% of its proceeds to support the Foundation’s programs.
H&M at Downtown Silver Spring will also offer the first 100 shoppers in line an H&M t-shirt and Access to Fashion Pass, valued from $10 to $300, in addition to other opening offers and fun giveaways.
