JC Hosts The Dance Institute of Washington’s 25th Anniversary Gala

WASHINGTON (JCHAYWARD.COM) — JC Hayward hosted the 25th Annual Gala For the Dance Institute of Washington at the Embassy of France.

Founder and Artistic Director, Fabian Barnes, established the Dance Institute of Washington after a 15-year career with the Dance Theatre of Harlem with a goal to provide arts education to at-risk and underserved youth.

In its 25th year, the Dance Institute of Washington has grown to be one of DC’s largest African American arts organizations and strives to bring together students of all ages and backgrounds to learn important life disciplines through dance.

Mayor Gray and council member Jim Graham were in attendance as well as artist Lou Stovall, director of the Dance Theatre of Harlem, Arthur Mitchell, and Reginald Van Lee.
