New PBS Documentary Takes A Closer Look At School Safety

WASHINGTON (JCHAYWARD.COM) — The whole country is still searching for answers, after the Newtown massacre. Now a new PBS documentary looks at how other potentially devastating school attacks have been averted.  Jason Williams, executive producer of “The Path to Violence” joined JC Hayward on Monday to talk about his new documentary, which examines ways to prevent school shootings.

This new PBS documentary premieres on Wednesday, February 20, and reveals how federal and local public safety programs across the country have worked with school districts and members of the public to avert at least 120 potentially devastating school attacks over the past ten years.

The documentary also strives to tackle the ongoing issues of where society should draw the line between individual rights from metal illness to gun ownership, and the safety of the public.
